Red ginger flowers are otherwise known as Pink Cone Ginger or Ostrich Plume! They symbolise fiery passion, and is the national flower of Samoa. In Samoa, the Red Ginger is known as “Teuila” (te-oo-wee-lah).
A large festival is held in Samoa every year to celebrate the flowering of the Teuila, and since 1991, the Teuila Festival has grown to become one of the Pacific’s largest cultural festivals!
