#HBFamily Chats: Handling Operations & Customer Experience at Happy Bunch

Do you wonder what a day at Happy Bunch Singapore is like? Today, we sit down with Elya from our Operations & Customer Experience Team to learn more about her, and her journey with Happy Bunch so far!


How long have you been working with Happy Bunch?

I’ve been with Happy Bunch for 2 and a half months now—it went by super duper fast!


Describe your day-to-day in the Operations & Customer Experience team.

I start the day by going through all the emails and messages we receive from our customers overnight, and if any necessary changes have to be made to their orders, I’ll make sure to make the edits before the orders go out of the door. I then process all the data required for delivery, and liaise with the flower team to ensure orders are prepared in time for despatch.

Throughout the day, you can find me responding to customer enquiries, and monitoring the delivery progress of our delivery agents to ensure everything is in order for our recipients.


What do you like about your working experience with Happy Bunch so far?

I like that the environment here pushes me to think and to really grow when it comes to my working style and working values. I found that the last couple of months have pushed me to be more disciplined, detail-oriented, and to be more aware of the business as a whole. My colleagues and I are always encouraging each other to learn and grow as a team and it has been a fruitful experience for me so far!


Tell us about one memorable moment you experienced at Happy Bunch.

The most memorable moment for me is when I received my very first positive feedback from one of our customers! It was a super hectic day, but reading those kind words made all of my hard work and challenges worth it. It almost felt like I achieved a milestone, and put things into perspective that the work I do ensures that all of our customers have a great experience with us. At the end of the day, if they are happy, I’m happy!


What is one thing you learnt that really stuck with you throughout your experience with us so far?

Always be quick on your feet, whether physically or mentally! Do things with a sense of urgency, and be quick to react (with a solution) when plans change.


If you were to describe your experience with us in 3 words, what would it be?

Worth Every Moment!

I won’t lie and say it has been an easy and smooth sailing journey so far. The last 2 months have been challenging and full of learning curves, but it is all worth it! Along with the challenges, I’ve learnt and grown so much, and I wouldn’t be where I am today if not for the hard work and obstacles along the way.


If you had to recommend one flower bunch or gift item to others, what would it be?

I would recommend the Signature Surprise Bunch! I feel it matches my personality of being a risk taker and always taking the more adventurous path. With the Surprise Bunch, you get something different every time, plus you won’t know what to expect until your recipient receives it. It’s a fun experience that I’ll recommend to anyone who loves surprises and is a little more adventurous!


What is one thing you’re excited for in the future, whether at work or in your personal life?

I’m excited to be part of the growth of Happy Bunch! We are currently expanding and I’m looking forward to growing with the #HBFamily and to improve the Happy Bunch experience for our customers.


What is one piece of advice you have for others who are pursuing their careers, whether at Happy Bunch or elsewhere?

Just go for it. When it comes to doing something new, whether you’re a fresh graduate looking for your first full time job, or you’re chasing a dream of yours, it can seem very scary at first but don’t let your doubts overcome you! You won’t know until you try, plus there’s no harm in just trying… so don’t be afraid to just go for it!
