If you’re a flower-lover, you’ve probably heard ofThe Big Flower Fight! Season 1 is now out on Netflix, and ready for you to binge on all week long. Watch ten pairs of florists, sculptors, and garden designers (of different experiences and skill levels) compete to create big, bold, and beautiful floral sculptures.
This is a refreshing series to follow as the contestants often push the boundaries and create amazing work outside of their own comfort zones—leaving us in awe with stunning flower sculptures and interesting arrangement methods. Beyond flowers, you can catch the contestants using interesting foliage and potted plants as well.

4. Kiki’s Delivery Service
If you’re a fan of animation, especially Studio Ghibli films, this recommendation will be right up your alley! Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989) is a story about a young 13-year-old witch called Kiki, who moves to a seaside town with her talking cat, Jiji, to attend witch training. In the film, Kiki goes on a journey and quest of self-discovery, as she faces her own doubts and fears along the way while honing her craft.
Besides showing a beautiful coming-of-age story, Kiki’s Delivery Service incorporates charming animated scenes of flowers and landscape scenery throughout the film as well. A must-watch if you love flowers, and animated films!

If you’ve ever been curious as to how the flower blooming process looks like, join the club! This viral video from National Geographic shows a time-lapse view of the blooming stages of some of our favourite flowers, like Lily, Nigella, Peony, and more. Witness how these gorgeous blooms unfurl and gain its shape over time. It’ll keep you mesmerised and intrigued for the full 3:24 mins!
Fun fact: This stunning time-lapse video was created by filmmaker David de los Santos Gil over a period of nine months. He used 5,000 out of 50,000 shots of his floral subjects for this final video.

8. Prepping and Cooking with Fresh Roses
If you’re an avid YouTube viewer, you’ve probably seen a few ofLiziqi’s videos around in your suggested videos. She is known for creating viral videos where she prepares food recipes and handicrafts in her rural hometown, with soothing and relaxing sounds and visuals.
In this video, she gathers beautifully bloomed roses to create dishes like rose petal jam, rose smoked chicken, rose wine, and more. Watch her video for an eye-opening experience, and for some soothing ASMR.

9. Enter the Deadliest Garden in the World
It’s not all rosy when it comes to flowers. Locked behind closed doors in Northumberland, England, is The Poison Garden at Alnwick Castle that grows around 100 flowers. However, the flowers found in this garden are not the typical blooms you’ll see in your public gardens, instead they are ultra poisonous and lethal to humans!

10. All about the Corpse Flower
If you’re talking about rare and unique flowers, this one takes the cake. The Corpse Flower only blooms every 7-10 years, making it super rare to spot an open Corpse Flower.
‘Why is it named the Corpse Flower?’ you may ask—the answer lies in the title of our recommended video:This Giant Plant Looks Like Raw Meat and Smells Like Dead Rat. Yup, they aren’t kidding, the Corpse Flower (or Amorphophallus Titanum) releases an odour that resembles a rotting corpse to attract insects like dung beetles and flesh flies to pollinate them, ensuring the continuation of the species.
The Corpse Flower has been making headlines recently, as it is blooming all over the world—even in Singapore! Dr Lim Wee Kiak, an MP for Sembawang GRC recently postedphotographs on Facebook of the Corpse Flower blooming in Sembawang, which drew many people to visit the magnificent flower and to take a selfie. However, theCorpse Flower in Sembawang was later found to be cut down anonymously, which is a pity as we may no longer be able to witness its beauty in-person in sunny Singapore.
