HiP Chocolate
Brand Highlights: British, Plant-Based, Vegan, Sustainable, Slavery-Free
The HiP in HiP Chocolate stands for Happiness in Plants, because they are a sustainable, plant-based chocolate brand, that produces delicious, creamy vegan chocolate from a slavery-free supply chain. At HiP Chocolate, they use the best quality single-origin Colombian cacao and combine it with creamy gluten-free oat milk.
The Founder of HiP Chocolate, James Cadbury, was inspired by his great-great-great Grandfather, John Cadbury (Founder of Cadbury). In the 19th century the Cadbury family revolutionised confectionery by making one of the first milk chocolate bars. Nearly 200 years later HiP Chocolate is looking to disrupt the chocolate market by replacing the use of animal products in chocolate with plant-based milk. This is why James created HiP Chocolate, with an aim to reinvent chocolate by replacing dairy with plant-based creamy oat milk.
HiP Chocolate produces ethically-sourced chocolate from a slavery-free supply chain. They source their cocoa from a family-owned business in Bogota, Colombia who have grown cocoa for over 100 years. The family harvests their own beans and work alongside other cocoa farmers to create long-term, sustainable relationships. This transparent approach from farm to bar guarantees that every link in the supply chain gains value. It also allows their cocoa supplier the resources to invest in local community projects such as helping to build numerous schools.
